As Figure 2-6 shows, the volume of intra-regional trade increased significantly between 2005 and 2011, though growth has since plateaued slightly, while Figure 2-2 shows that the share of trade between IGAD member states compared with trade outside the region has increased steadily from 10% in 2005 to 17% in 2016 and is projected to reach 28% by 2030.
